Ramblings of a Self-admitted (Sickly) Nerd

Well since I have been on a short hiatus, I might as well fill those of you who adore me (hint of sarcasm), on what I have been doing with my weeks at school.

1. First of all, I have been pouring myself over the book "The Girl Who Played With Fire" by Steig Larsson. If you haven't heard of this book, you might have heard of the first one in this three parts series called "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". These books are marvelous dahhh-ling but not in the tea-and-crumpets-oprahs-book-club sortofway. They are insanely suspenseful and more addicting than Twilight....oh yeah....THAT BAD. Granted, I do love my classic, well-written novels but sometimes I like to get a little dirty with a easy page turner. Since I now finished this book, I will next be on to "An Object of Beauty" by Steve Martin (the comedian!). Supposedly this is slightly more mature and profound...I'll letcha know.

2. Recently I have been a tid bit sickly. Only in the sense that my nose is running constantly and I hack up a lung every now and then. I am curing this devestating illness with some Simply Orange (yuuuummmmm!). I swear by Vitamin C as the cure for the common sinus infection/cold.

Glee-healing

  1. Rough day. I don't want to bore you with the details (snow, driving, boy) so I won't. I have one remedy when I have a day like today and that is to take a nice warm bath while listening to my Glee soundtrack. This hits the spot every time
  2. Back to school tomorrow. EEEEKKK!! (those are my noises of pure excitement) I'm pathetic when it comes to the first day of school. Yes, I still pick out my outfit. Stop judging. I also get to unpack and organize my room which gets me as excited as a kid in a candy store. Basically I'm a super nerd.

mic check, one two, one two

It's no secret I'm a sucker for fashion. My closet in the dorm is full of clothes that I used to love. I attempt to incorporate each top into some ensemble that I convince myself is effortlessly chic. Who am I kidding....I buy tons of new clothes (usually from F21, Old Navy, Target) with money that I don't have and I wear them maybe once.
Recently I have tried not buying new clothes, but living vicariously through magazines like Elle, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, and Cosmo. Contrary to my idiotic conscience this does not keep money in the bank. Needless to say I have developed quite a pile of old magazines. To offset the guilty feeling in the bottom of my bank account, I cut up these magazines into piles of exercise tips, celebrities I love, makeup/hair ideas, and good outfits to try. I feel a bit better now after doing this, but that didn't stop me from running out and buy the next People magazine (5 dollars for that baby!).
However I am attempting not buying anymore clothes or magazines and remixing the clothes that I have. Wish me luck on this endeavor!! Oh and here's some fashion images I will cling onto until my "fashion fast" is over:
